Official Partnership Sets a New Challenge for Washington Youth Soccer Players

FEDERAL WAY, WASHINGTON (Friday, December 19) –
In an effort to improve players’ soccer skills and overall development, Washington Youth soccer has joined forces with a new partner, Star 1 Soccer. As the “Official Soccer Skills Challenger” for youth soccer players in Washington State players will now be able to practice and test their fundamental game skills with the various fun Star 1 Soccer Skills Challenges and be eligible to receive certificates and prizes.
"Participating players will be able to practice their skills at home in a safe fun environment in addition to their standard club training sessions. We hope this wonderful program will assist to improve our player’s creativity and enjoyment of the game," said Doug Andreassen, President of Washington Youth Soccer.
This innovative partnership not only encourages individual skill improvement and fun at home, but will allow players to express their skills and compete against other players from all over the state. After successfully completing various stages and levels, the top participants will have a chance to compete at the state championships held during the new Seattle Sounders FC (MLS) home games at Qwest Field. An amazing experience for any soccer fanatic, the top players will also compete for a chance to win an all inclusive trip to enjoy an official English Premier League game with a family member.
"We know through first hand experience that most youth players lack a deliberate mentality towards repeated and persistent individual practicing at home away from structured training. Our goal is that this program and this alliance with Washington Youth Soccer will be the catalyst that strengthens and encourages personal initiative, self discipline and improve a players confidence through hard work, desire and fun," added Marsha White, Star 1 Soccer’s CEO.
In addition to the many benefits the Star 1 Soccer Skills Challenge provides to players, this program also provides a solid resource for parents/guardians who are seeking ways to educate their sons and daughters but may have little experience/knowledge at coaching or playing soccer.
We invite all soccer players to stay fit, active and have fun developing their unique soccer-style. Join the competition!
